Chitra Nakshatra, the 14th Nakshatra in Vedic Astrology, bridges the constellations of Virgo & Libra. It has a span of 23°20′ Virgo to 6°40′ Libra and is constituted by a single star known as Spica (Alpha-Virginis), which is also one of the brightest stars in the sky. The name Chitra means “brilliant” in Sanskrit. It is symbolized by a bright jewel or a shining light.
