Uttara Bhadrapada

Uttara Bhadrapada is the 26th Nakshatra in the Vedic astrology and it comprises of two stars, Gamma Pegasi and Alpha Andromedae. This star lies in the constellation of Pisces and its span extends from 3°20′ to 16°40′ Pisces. The symbol for Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra is the hind or rear legs of the funeral cot, opposing to the front legs used to represent the Nakshatra Purva Bhadrapada. Its name ‘Uttara Bhadrapada’ translates to “The latter one who possesses lucky feet.”

The ruling deity of Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra is Ahir Bhudhanya, the serpent god associated with fertility.
