Shravana

Appearing in the night sky as the head of Aquila, the Eagle, is the Shravana Nakshatra. It is the 22nd Nakshatra in Vedic Astrology and is formed by the three stars Altair, Alshain and Tarazed in the constellation of Capricorn. Its span spreads across 10°00′ to 23°20′ Capricorn. The word Shravana means “hearing” and the symbol used to represent this star is an ear. This Nakshatra hence, represents patient listening and learning by the use of ears.

The presiding deity of Shravana Nakshatra is Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. This makes this star symbolic of preserving and spreading knowledge and compassion.
