Uttara Ashadha

The 21st Nakshatra in Vedic Astrology is the Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra. It bridges the constellations of Sagittarius and Capricorn in the astrology chart and has a span from 26°40′ Sagittarius to 10°00′ Capricorn. The tusk of an elephant is used for representing this star. The name Uttara Ashadha translates to ‘The Latter Invincible One’ or ‘The Final Victory’.

The ruling deities of Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra are the ten Vishvadevas, the gods of dharma. This makes it a star of deep integrity and humanitarian values. The people born under this star, hence, also have righteous aspirations and a positive outlook for life. They have a keen inclination towards philanthropy and charity. Uttara Ashadha denotes leadership, dutifulness, and winning with discipline. They must be careful however, not to overemphasize the implementation of values as they walk the fine line between a ruler and a dictator. The natives of Uttara Ashadha greatly value and respect their traditions. They are fearless yet practical when stepping into new ventures.

The controlling planet of Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is the Sun. This bestows the natives of Uttara Ashadha with grace and courage. It also makes them committed towards their duties and of a giving nature. The people born under this star are always searching for the spiritually unknown. They are strongly connected with their inner selves and become deeply involved with any task they undertake. Those people are highly obedient, trained in the rules of virtue, and usually very popular among their social circle. Those born under Uttara Ashadha are grateful for any help they receive and always return the favors.

Though Uttara Ashada natives also have a tendency to engage in a fight or war like the Purva Ashada natives but Uttara Ashada natives are much wiser in making such decisions and they only engage in such actions when it is required for the benefit of a bigger section of the society unlike Purva Ashada natives who can engage in acts of fight or war just to fulfill one of their obsessions or to achieve one of their unrealistic goals. Some Vedic astrologers believe that Uttara Ashada natives engage in acts like war only to reach a final peace in the end and not to gain some territory or some other profits and they are also known to be the ones who are good at forgiving even their enemies when the final objective is achieved and they feel that hurting or harming anyone now is not necessary. These characteristics make Uttara Ashada a much more balanced nakshatra than many other nakshatras and the natives under the influence of this nakshatra have a bigger vision for universal benefit.
